Bastian Widenmayer

Prof. Dr. Bastian Widenmayer is a Lecturer at Bern University of Applied Sciences (BFH), affiliated with the School of Engineering and Computer Science. His academic journey includes degrees from TU Munich, a PhD from the University of St. Gallen and University of Cambridge, and postdoctoral work at Harvard Business School. He specializes in digital transformation, circular economy, and innovation management.

He leads the BFH Digital Transformation ToolBox project, aiming to support Swiss SMEs in overcoming digital transformation challenges. His research spans digital business models, sustainability, and entrepreneurship, with a focus on practical, industry-relevant solutions.

He teaches courses such as Strategy and Innovation Management and Circular Business Models. His expertise includes roles as Head of Patent Management, IoT Solutions, and Strategy in the machining industry. He collaborates with institutes like IDAS (Management Science, Innovation, Sustainability, and Entrepreneurship) and leads projects funded by the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport and private entities like Lidl Schweiz.

He supervises numerous theses on topics like sustainable business models, digital process optimization, and corporate venturing in energy sectors.
