Prof. Basile Ndjio is an Associate Professor in Social and Political Anthropology at the University of Douala’s Faculty of Letters and Social Sciences. His research focuses on transnational healing processes, particularly the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Cameroon, supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2016–2019). He explores themes such as global health equity, decoloniality, and the intersection of migration and healthcare through a socio-political lens.
His recent publications (2023–2025) address pharmaceutical HIV prevention’s affective dimensions, racialization’s role in shaping global health policies, and radical approaches to health justice. He advocates for decolonial methodologies in anthropology to challenge Eurocentric frameworks.
