Bas Aarts is a Professor of English Linguistics at the Department of English, University College London (UCL), where he has worked since 1989. He served as Vice-Dean for Innovation and Enterprise in UCL's Faculty of Arts and Humanities (2016–2022) and as Director of the Survey of English Usage (1997–present).
