Barry Williams is a Professor and Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Faculty of Engineering. He is actively engaged in research related to power electronics, electric drives, and renewable energy systems. His work contributes to advancements in sustainable energy technologies and smart grid integration.
His primary research interests include Power Electronics, Electric Drives, DC-DC Converters, Microgrids, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), and High-Temperature Silicon Carbide Electronics. He focuses on improving efficiency in power conversion systems, integrating renewable sources like wind and solar into grids, and developing robust control strategies for distributed energy systems.
