معرفی
Barry Bradlyn is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign specializing in theoretical condensed matter physics with a focus on topological phases of matter.
His research interests include:
- Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
- Topological Phases
- Quantum Hall Systems
- Berry Curvature
- Viscosity Tensor
- Thermal Transport
- Effective Field Theory
Dr. Bradlyn received his Ph.D. from Yale University in 2015 under Nicholas Read. His dissertation examined viscous and thermal transport properties of chiral topological phases and their relationship to topological invariants. He developed Kubo formalism for calculating frequency-dependent viscosity tensors of quantum systems and applied this to integer and fractional quantum Hall states as well as p+ip paired superfluids.
His work demonstrates the relationship between Hall viscosity and mean orbital spin density, and explores connections between frequency-dependent viscosity and conductivity tensors for Galilean-invariant systems. He constructed low-energy effective actions for two-dimensional non-relativistic topological phases that describe bulk thermoelectric and visco-elastic properties.
