Barbara Łuczkowiak

Professor Barbara Łuczkowiak is a faculty member at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, holding the position of Professor in the Department of Textiles within the Faculty of Painting. She has been continuously employed at the institution since 1982 and currently leads the Experimental Textile Studio.

Her educational background includes:

• Graduate of the Faculty of Painting at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
• Postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Painting, Department of Textiles, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (studio of Professor Wojciech Sadley)

Professor Łuczkowiak's research and artistic practice centers on the integration of painting and textile techniques, with a strong emphasis on experimental approaches to fabric manipulation and material innovation. Her work explores the expressive potential of textiles as a contemporary art medium, bridging traditional craft with avant-garde visual expression. She directs the Experimental Textile Studio, which functions as a dedicated creative laboratory for pioneering textile-based artistic research and development within the Academy's framework.
