Barbara Grażyna Charmas

Barbara Grażyna Charmas is a Professor at the Department of Chromatography, Institute of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. She has been a faculty member since 2020, previously holding roles as an Adjunct (1999–2020) and Assistant (1990–1999).

Education:

• Habilitation (2016), Maria Curie-Skłodowska University.
• PhD (1999), Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, dissertation on "Studies on Structure and Energetic Properties of Carbosil Surfaces" under Prof. Roman Leboda.
• MSc (1989), Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, thesis on "Improving Selectivity in Inverse Voltamperometric Methods" under Prof. Jerzy Matysik.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on materials synthesis, modification, and thermal analysis, with expertise in chromatography, porous materials, nanomaterials, and mechanochemical methods. She has contributed to adsorption, surface chemistry, and composite materials.

Grants & Projects: She has participated in international collaborations, including the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) Marie Curie IRSES projects COMPOSITUM and NanoBioMat, and coordinated a Polish-Ukrainian project on hybrid carbon-mineral sorbents for toxic compound adsorption.

Labs & Teams: Affiliated with the Department of Chromatography and Institute of Chemical Sciences, with expertise in physicochemical methods and thermal analysis of materials.
