Barbara D'Angelo is a Clinical Associate Professor in the School of Applied Professional Studies at Arizona State University, specializing in technical communication. She holds a Ph.D. in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University and an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

Her research centers on writing assessment, the impact of assessment on curriculum, threshold concepts, transfer of learning, metacognition, and information literacy. Her work often bridges library science and writing instruction.
Her recent publications and presentations highlight a sustained focus on writing in nursing education, ePortfolios, peer review, and curriculum design in online and multidisciplinary contexts. She frequently collaborates with Bethany Maid and other scholars in writing and information literacy.

D'Angelo mentors graduate students in the MS in Technical Communication program, serving on thesis and applied project committees. She teaches courses such as Applied Rhetoric, Grant & Proposal Writing, and Capstone projects.
