Barbara A Parilla

Dr. Barbara A Parilla serves as Professor and Medical Director of the PATHways Program within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kentucky. Her leadership focuses on specialized care coordination for complex maternal and fetal conditions through the Maternal Fetal Medicine division.

Her clinical expertise centers on high-risk obstetrics, including pre-existing medical complications during pregnancy, advanced obstetric ultrasound interpretation, and multidisciplinary management of fetal anomalies. The PATHways Program under her direction integrates genetic counseling, high-risk monitoring, and tailored treatment pathways for medically complex pregnancies.

As a core faculty member, Dr. Parilla contributes to resident and medical student education within the obstetrics/gynecology training programs, emphasizing evidence-based approaches to maternal-fetal complications and collaborative care models.
