Balpreet Malli

Balpreet Malli is a part-time visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster and a PhD candidate exploring the cognitive effects of digital listening in hybrid environments. Her work examines how sonic qualities influence attention, memory, and mood, particularly in neurodiverse populations such as those with ASD, ADHD, and ABI.

Education:

• MSc in Clinical Neuroscience, University College London (UCL)

Research Focus: Her research bridges auditory perception and neurodiversity, investigating disparities in digital listening experiences for music and voice. She also studies functional activation in neonates using broadband near-infrared spectroscopy (BNIRS).

Teaching: Balpreet teaches a seminar class in Systems Neuroscience at the University of Westminster.

Community Engagement: She has volunteered with Headway West London for three years, contributing to their health and wellbeing programme for acquired brain injury survivors.
