Bakari Arabi is a Lecturer in Law at the University of East London (UEL), part of the Department of Law & Criminology within the Royal Docks School of Business and Law. He holds a PhD in Law from UEL, alongside advanced qualifications including an LLM (International Law & World Economy), BL (Barrister at Law), and dual LLB & Shariah degrees. His academic roles include module leader for Company Law and coordinator of UEL's partnership with UNICAF for LLM programmes.
Dr. Arabi’s research focuses on Islamic legal contemporaneity, infrastructure development in African mining sectors, and legal frameworks for investment. His PhD thesis, published by the British Library, addresses Nigeria’s mining sector through legal reform and sukuk financing. Current work explores Ijtihad’s modern relevance, legal responses to Boko Haram, and critiques of Nigeria’s Petroleum Industry Act (PIB).
