Babar Shabbir is a Vice Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow at RMIT University's School of Science. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Wollongong (2016) and previously served as a research fellow at Monash University. His research focuses on developing advanced radiological sensors for real-time radiation measurements and imaging, leveraging 2D materials, photonics, and machine learning. Shabbir is an Australian-American Fulbright Fellow and actively supervises PhD and Master’s students in areas like X-ray sensing, sodium batteries, and nanomaterials.
His work addresses environmental and health protection through radiation detection innovations. Key research themes include sensor technology, optoelectronics, and sustainable energy materials.
