معرفی
Julien Bernat is an Associate Professor at the University of Lorraine, affiliated with the INSPÉ de Lorraine (Institut National Supérieur du Professorat et de l'Éducation). He is a member of the Analysis and Number Theory research group, with a focus on non-standard number systems, aperiodic structures, and word combinatorics. His teaching spans MEEF master's degrees in mathematics at INSPÉ, and he contributes to public mathematics dissemination through events and educational activities.
His research explores topics like substitutions, β-numeration, and aperiodic tilings. Key themes include the geometric modeling of substitutions, factor complexity in infinite words, and numerical systems based on the Fibonacci sequence. These works intersect with dynamical systems, theoretical computer science, and discrete mathematics.
Bernat co-leads the IREM group 'Games in the Teaching of Mathematics' and participates in initiatives like Math en JEANS and MathC2+ courses. He has presented at public outreach events on themes such as knot theory, mathematical paradoxes, and the societal role of mathematics. His forthcoming work on particle dynamics with Sébastien Lozano highlights ongoing educational research.
