Dr. B. Bynum Boley is a Professor of Tourism Management at the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, leading the UGA Tourism Research Lab. His expertise lies in sustainable tourism development, community-based resource management, and the intersection of tourism with natural and cultural heritage preservation. He holds a Ph.D. in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Virginia Tech, an M.S. in Recreation Management from the University of Montana, and dual B.S. degrees in Natural Resource Recreation and Tourism and Forestry from the University of Georgia.

Research focuses on sustainable tourism strategies to enhance community resilience, resident quality of life, and destination competitiveness. Recent work explores urban deer management, social media's role in travel decisions, and the application of empowerment theory in tourism governance. He supervises numerous graduate students and actively collaborates on projects addressing conservation, community engagement, and policy.
Awards include editorial board roles at top-tier tourism journals, reflecting his scholarly impact. His lab, the UGA Tourism Research Lab, drives innovative solutions for sustainable tourism challenges.
