Bürgisser Bruno

Professor Bruno Bürgisser holds a full professorship at the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture (HES-SO), leading the Institute for Applied Plastics Research (iRAP). With 20 years of industrial experience and 10 years in academia, his expertise spans plastics processing, ceramic injection molding (CIM), and mechatronics integration through overmolding. He specializes in developing innovative manufacturing solutions for industries such as medical devices and high-end consumer products.

His research focuses on optimizing plastic and ceramic manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Notable projects include the Assytronic initiative, which explores integrating sensitive electronic components into plastic products via injection overmolding, supported by eight industry partners. He also leads the CIM++ project, advancing ceramic molding techniques with variotherm control systems.
