Azzurra Tafuro is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellow affiliated with STRIGES and CIERL. Her research focuses on the intersections of gender, emotions, and national identity in historical and political contexts.
- Recipient of the Premio Franca Pieroni Bortolotti for her doctoral work on the political use of maternal figures in 19th-century Italy and France.
- Current project (GENI) examines the cultural and political dimensions of Italy's 1971-1981 abortion decriminalization debates (Law 194).
Research Themes: feminist movements, emotional rhetoric in policy debates, gendered national identity, and historical analysis of reproductive rights.
