Azeem M. Shaikh is the Ralph and Mary Otis Isham Professor and Chairman of the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago. He co-directs the Big Data Initiative at the Becker Friedman Institute. His research spans econometric theory, causal inference, and experimental design, with applications to early childhood education and economic mobility.
