Ayşenur Dal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Design at Bilkent University's Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture. She joined the department in 2018 following her PhD in Communication from The Ohio State University (2018). Her research focuses on the social-psychological factors influencing online political activities, employing quantitative methods such as survey analysis and social network studies.
Dr. Dal holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Relations from Boğaziçi University (2012) and an M.A. in Communication from The Ohio State University (2016). Her work explores themes including digital privacy, risk perceptions in authoritarian contexts, and the dynamics of online political expression.
Her publications have appeared in prestigious journals like New Media & Society, Political Behavior, and Communication Research. She has investigated topics such as vaccine hesitancy during the pandemic, censorship evasion strategies, and emotional drivers of political activism in high-risk environments.
Dr. Dal teaches courses including Media and Society, Advanced Issues in Communication Studies, and Media and Everyday Life. Her research has been supported by institutions like the USC Center for Public Diplomacy and the Annenberg School for Communication.
