Ayibatari "Tari" Sikpi, MD, is a Connecticut native and researcher affiliated with the Yale Child Study Center at Yale School of Medicine. She holds a B.S. in Neuroscience (summa cum laude) from the University of Pittsburgh, with minors in Chemistry and Sociology. She completed medical school at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and her general psychiatry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Her clinical and research interests focus on psychotic disorders, psychotherapy, and forensic psychiatry. During her training, she engaged in significant mentorship activities, including guiding high school students interested in healthcare careers and leading interdisciplinary resident discussions on topics like race, sexuality, and politics in psychiatry.
Affiliated with the Yale Child Study Center, she explores translational research at the intersection of clinical practice and systemic issues in mental healthcare. Her work emphasizes culturally responsive care and equity in psychiatric treatment.
