معرفی
Aygül Ceylan is an Assistant Professor at Yıldız Technical University's Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture. Previously, she held roles as Lecturer (2020-2023) and Research Assistant (2018-2020) at the same institution.
- Doctorate (2014-2021): Yıldız Technical University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Architecture Department, Structure Program.
- Postgraduate (2008-2011): Yıldız Technical University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Structure Program.
- Undergraduate (2003-2008): Yıldız Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture.
Her research focuses on timber structures, cross-laminated timber (CLT), and earthquake-resistant design. She explores mechanical properties of CLT connections, nail resistance in composite systems, and sustainable building technologies. Recent work emphasizes structural deformations in taller timber buildings and seismic performance in earthquake-prone regions.
Key trends in her publications include experimental studies on CLT wall-to-floor connections (2019), coatings for nail resistance in CLT (2020), and international collaborations like the COST Action CA20139 (2022). She investigates how timber composites enhance sustainability in multi-storey structures (2014) and analyzes indoor mold impacts on building biology (2013).
- Scientific Award: 3rd Prize, Bodrum Chamber of Commerce Architectural Project Competition (2015).
Dr. Ceylan coordinates postgraduate programs and participates in accreditation committees (NAAB, 2023-2024). She leads funded projects on CLT material properties (2022-2023) and CLT system behavior (2018-2021). Active in COST Action CA20139 since 2022, she contributes to international research on timber high-rise design.
