Avni Güney

Professor Avni Güney is a distinguished academic at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University's Faculty of Engineering, Department of Mining Engineering. He holds a Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has built a substantial career in rock mechanics and mining engineering.

His research interests focus on rock mechanics, mining engineering, surface mining methods, marble and natural stone technology, and applied rock mechanics. Professor Güney's work has significantly contributed to understanding rock properties, tunnel stability, and mining operations in the Mugla region of Turkey. His expertise spans both theoretical and practical aspects of mining engineering, with particular emphasis on marble extraction and processing techniques specific to the Mugla region.
