Authens Oppong Wadie

Authens Oppong Wadie is a Teaching Professor in the Department of History at DePaul University, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences. She holds an Ed.D. from Northern Illinois University.

Her research focuses on decolonized histories of Africa and the Black Diaspora, with specialized work on Ethiopian queens and anti-colonial narratives. She co-edited The Eternal Year of African People (2020) and founded the Empress Menen Chronicles, a journal dedicated to pan-African women's perspectives. She teaches courses in African-American, American, and World History.
