Audrey Reeves

Audrey Reeves is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Virginia Tech, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. Her research integrates feminist theories of affect and emotion to expand understandings of security governance.

• Current work: Affect and World Politics: Governing Bodies, Hearts, and Minds at Museums and Memorials (2021), examining how bodily interactions with museum spaces shape perceptions of militarized activity.
• Training: Classical/contemporary ballet (Conservatoire de Danse de Montréal, Dance Area Geneva, 3rd Stage Dance Company Bristol) and certified Forrest Yoga Instructor (since 2017).

Her research highlights affective expertise in democratic consensus-building around the use of force, utilizing interdisciplinary methods rooted in feminist theory and embodied politics.
