Aude Chabrelie

Professor Aude Chabrelie is a faculty member at Bern University of Applied Sciences in the School of Architecture, Wood and Construction. She serves as Professor of Sustainable Construction with a focus on sustainability analysis (research and teaching) at the Institute of Building Materials and Biobased Materials since 2023.

Her educational background includes:

Professor Chabrelie's research focuses on sustainability analysis in construction, with particular expertise in life cycle assessment (LCA), environmental impact reduction, and decarbonization of the construction industry. Her work bridges academic research and practical application, drawing from her extensive industry experience in technology leadership roles. She has published extensively on concrete durability, particularly regarding sulfate exposure under various environmental conditions.

She teaches Life Cycle Analysis and Environment & Sustainability courses across multiple programs including the Master of Science in Wood Technology, Master of Science in Circular Innovation and Sustainability, and related Bachelor's programs.

Professor Chabrelie holds several patents related to construction materials and wastewater treatment, demonstrating her ability to translate research into practical innovations. Her industry experience includes leadership roles at Vigier Rail and Creabeton Matériaux where she focused on technology and environmental innovation.

Fluent in French, German, and English, Professor Chabrelie is well-positioned to collaborate internationally while serving Switzerland's multilingual academic community.
