Aubree Jones serves as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at Wellesley College, teaching Comparative Physiology & Anatomy. Previously, she instructed Human Anatomy & Physiology and the Diversity of Fishes at the University of Rhode Island.
Her academic credentials include:
- B.S. from Texas A&M University at Galveston
- Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island
Research focuses on vertebrate adaptations at the intersection of anatomy, ecology, and behavior. Key areas include sensory biology (seal whisker hydrodynamics, fish flow-sensing systems), evolutionary morphology (shark jaw musculature, alligator salt glands), and conservation physiology (Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle recovery, marine mammal stress hormones). Her work examines climate change impacts on sensory development and multi-sensory prey detection in aquatic vertebrates.
Outside academia, she engages in water sports, skiing, gardening, and hiking with her dog Winston.
