معرفی
Atsumasa Yoshida is a Professor (non-tenure-track) at Waseda University's School of Creative Science and Engineering, with concurrent appointments in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Graduate School of Creative Science and Engineering. He also serves as a Concurrent Researcher at the Waseda Research Institute for Science and Engineering (2024-2026).
His research focuses on thermal engineering and human physiology in urban heat stress adaptation, specializing in local cooling techniques using phase change materials (PCM) and cold agents applied to AVA-rich extremities (hands/feet). He investigates core temperature regulation, sweat suppression, and heat acclimatization mechanisms through controlled human subject experiments, integrating physiological responses with thermal physics for urban space design.
Current research includes two Waseda University projects: 'Construction of Living Spaces Adapted to Heat Stress' (2024) examining foot cooling with PCM (-10°C agents) post-exercise, and 'Thermal Design of Urban Spaces for Heat Stress Adaptation' (2023) analyzing hand/foot cooling efficacy in climate chambers (30-35°C) using JOS-3 human thermal modeling.
