Dr. Atma Prakash is a Senior Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering at Teesside University's SCEDT Engineering school. He joined in 2015 and teaches modules such as Turbomachinery, Aero Engines & Rocket Science, and Finite Element Methods. He holds an MSc in Space System Engineering from the University of Glasgow and a PhD from Cranfield University on Advanced Environmentally Friendly Jet Engines, focusing on emission prediction models for aero engine combustors.
His research interests span Gas Turbine Combustion, Aircraft Emission Reduction, Space Systems, Heat Transfer, and Computational Fluid Dynamics. He actively contributes to the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Recent work includes studies on hydrogen-fueled combustors and winglet performance optimization.
He co-led the Innovate UK-funded project 'Marine to Electric Power – SeNZe-Tech™' addressing marine energy challenges. His media engagements include expert commentary on space economy trends and the UK's space industry resilience.
