Athena V. Colman

Athena V. Colman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Brock University. She holds a B.A. from Windsor University, an M.A. from Brock University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Memphis. Her research focuses on Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Continental Philosophy, Social and Political Philosophy, and Feminism, with competencies in Asian Philosophy, Ancient Philosophy, Ethical Theory, Critical Theory, and Aesthetics. She has published widely on topics such as Kristeva’s political thought, Bergson’s memory theories, and feminist film analysis.

Her academic contributions include translations of key philosophical texts and interdisciplinary works like Argumentation and Rhetoric. Her recent work engages with contemporary debates in continental philosophy and its intersections with cultural studies.
