Aswin Gopakumar

Dr. Aswin Gopakumar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ), working under Prof. Julio Lloret-Fillol's research group. His expertise spans materials chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis (thermal, photo, and electrocatalysis), material characterization, and ionic liquids. He holds a B.Sc. in Nanoscience and Technology from Pondicherry Central University (India, 2013) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences and Engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL, Switzerland, 2018). Previously, he was an IOF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Antwerp (2018–2022).

His current research focuses on advancing catalytic materials and sustainable chemical processes. Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), his work integrates experimental and analytical techniques to address energy and environmental challenges.
