Asuman Cansev is an Associate Professor at the Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Uludağ University, where she has been working since 1999. Her research focuses on plant stress physiology, molecular biology of horticultural crops, and antioxidant biochemistry under extreme temperature conditions.
- PhD in Garden Plants (2008, Uludağ University)
- Master's in Garden Plants (2002, Uludağ University)
- Licence in Garden Plants (1998, Uludağ University)
Her work investigates plant responses to abiotic stresses including cold and heat stress in olives, strawberries, and garlic. She has developed SSR molecular markers for garlic genome analysis and studied glycine betaine/choline applications to enhance stress tolerance. Current projects examine phospholipid metabolism under stress and functional food ingredients from underutilized plants.
Scientific activities include collaborations with TÜBİTAK and Uludağ University Research Projects. She has published 11 international refereed journal articles and presented at 16 scientific conferences globally.
