Astrid Kause

Prof. Dr. Astrid Kause serves as a Junior Professor (Assistant Professor) for Sustainability Science and Psychology within the Institute of Sustainability Psychology (ISP) at Leuphana University of Lüneburg. Her research bridges psychology and sustainability science, focusing on collective action, motivation, and self-regulation for sustainable behavior.

Her work spans Sustainability Psychology, Health Psychology, and Methodology and Evaluation Research, with emphasis on group dynamics ('Miteinander von Gruppen') in sustainable development. She actively develops research transfer frameworks to apply psychological insights to real-world sustainability challenges.

Prof. Kause leads critical methodological training through annual workshops including Nonlinear Methods for Psychology and Social Sciences (2021-2026), Bayesian Workflow, and OpenSesame experiment-building sessions. She also oversees student research resources like Sona participant pools and Psychology major internships.
