Astrid Iversen is an Associate Professor at the Scandinavian Institute of Maritime Law, University of Oslo. Previously, she held a position at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (2020-2024). She earned her Master (2015) and PhD (2020) in Law from the University of Oslo’s Faculty of Law. Her research focuses on economic law, international economic law, financial market regulation, and central banking, particularly in sovereign debt contexts. She co-leads a research project on central banks' expanding roles in financial crises.
Her teaching includes financial market regulation, contract law, and public international law. She is open to supervising master and PhD theses in international economic law and financial market law. Astrid has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge, Sciences Po Paris, and the European University Institute.
Astrid is a board member of the Norwegian Banks’ Guarantee Fund. Her research projects include central banks’ roles, international financial market efficiency, and sovereign debt restructuring. Her publications span legal journals and books, with recent work analyzing central bank measures, sovereign debt frameworks, and climate litigation barriers.
