Assi Karttunen

Assi Karttunen is a harpsichordist and Research Fellow at the Sibelius Academy's DocMus Doctoral School (Uniarts Helsinki). She specializes in artistic research exploring historically informed performance, artist pedagogy, and interdisciplinary collaborations between music, movement, and visual arts.

With four solo albums featuring French Baroque repertoire, Karttunen performs internationally as soloist and with ensembles like the Superpluck Trio. Her research examines gesture, embodiment, and artistic knowledge transfer in pedagogical contexts. She directs projects integrating vocal skills, sounding bodies, and dialogic learning across artistic disciplines.
