Aske Thor Basselbjerg Stigemo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of People and Technology at Roskilde University, Denmark, affiliated with the LEAP Center for Work Life Research. His research integrates work environment studies, educational psychology, and feminist theory to address psychosocial challenges in workplaces and higher education.
His research interests focus on sustainable work environments through learning-oriented approaches, student life experiences in higher education, institutional ethnography, and time-environment dynamics in professional identity formation. Recent work examines psychosocial problems among students and healthcare workers using qualitative methodologies rooted in feminist critical theory.
Publications from 2022-2024 reveal consistent thematic clusters: learning-oriented workplace safety interventions in overstressed healthcare systems, student belonging mechanisms in higher education, and biographical work knowledge frameworks. His methodology emphasizes dialogic approaches and local knowledge translation within institutional contexts.
Key projects include the Student Life Project (2018-2021) tracking 75 students with psychosocial challenges, and the Better Psychosocial Work Environment initiative (2022-2025) developing learning-oriented workplace safety tools. He serves on the Handicap Knowledge Center committee (2023-2026) and collaborates with TRIO workplace environment groups.
Stigemo operates within Roskilde University's LEAP Center for Work Life Research, maintaining active partnerships with Danish healthcare institutions and workplace environment councils to translate research into practical interventions for sustainable work and learning environments.
