Dr. Ashraf Shirani is Professor in the School of Information Systems & Technology at San José State University, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in database management, data warehousing, and business intelligence. He holds a PhD from the University of Mississippi (1993) and MBA from the University of Arkansas (1988).
His research examines:
- Data warehouse implementation
- Decision support systems
- Virtual collaboration dynamics
- Information systems in distributed work
Publications appear in Information & Management, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Systems and Software, and other leading journals. His work investigates how information technologies shape organizational communication and decision-making processes.
