Ashraf Ashour is a Professor of Structural Engineering at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the School of BEACI within the Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies. He holds a PhD from Cambridge University (1994) and has held leadership roles including Head of Civil Engineering (2007–2012) and Director of Research at the School of Engineering (2014–2018). He is a Fellow of the Institution of Structural Engineers (FIStructE) and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

Prof. Ashour is an Associate Editor for Structures (Elsevier) and Composite Structures (Elsevier), and has examined 46 PhD theses globally. His 2024 Elsevier book on sustainable concrete materials further solidifies his influence in advancing eco-friendly infrastructure.
