Ashok Gangadean serves as the Emily Judson Baugh Gest and John Marshall Gest Professor of Global Philosophy and Director of the Gest Center at Haverford College, where he has taught for fifty years. He concurrently founded and directs the Global Dialogue Institute, creator of the Seven Stages of Deep Dialogue framework for cross-cultural communication.
His academic foundation includes:
- Ph.D. in Philosophy from Brandeis University
Gangadean's research pioneers global philosophy through the quest for the Source Code of Logos – the generative logic underlying all worldviews. His work integrates philosophy of logic and language with global ontology and comparative ethics, critically examining Hindu, Buddhist, and Zen traditions within transdisciplinary contexts. This framework cultivates diversity intelligence and deep dialogue competencies essential for navigating ideological and cultural boundaries in the global age.
As Founder-Director of the Global Dialogue Institute, he advances practical applications of his theories while authoring seminal works including Meditations of Global First Philosophy: Quest for the Missing Code of Logos and the audio book Awakening The Global Mind. His ongoing project Awakening Global Enlightenment: The Maturation of our Species explores humanity's evolutionary trajectory through both literary and cinematic mediums, recently released as a double CD "movie trailer" concept.
