Ashley Irish is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the UWA Medical School, The University of Western Australia. Her research focuses on chronic kidney disease, vascular access challenges in dialysis patients, and the role of omega-3 fatty acids in cardiovascular health. She has contributed to studies on transplant medicine, particularly regarding post-transplant complications and hepatitis C virus in organ donations.
Her expertise intersects nephrology, immunology, and health economics. Key projects include the FAVOURED trial on arteriovenous fistula failure and cost analyses of chronic kidney disease in Australia. She has also explored human cytomegalovirus immunology in clinical settings.
- Grants: NHMRC-funded projects on living kidney donors, antithrombotic therapies, omega-3 cardiovascular effects, and NK cell roles in CMV.
