Ashlee Sawyer

Ashlee Sawyer is a Postdoc Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, working under faculty adviser Eric Benotsch, Ph.D.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services from Old Dominion University (2014)
• Doctoral studies in Health Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University (enrolled since 2014)

Dr. Sawyer's research centers on sexual health and risk, with specific interests in sexual health education, healthcare access and utilization, sexual health policy, risk behaviors, and health disparities. Her long-term goal is to use this research to inform interventions and public policy related to sexual health and risk.

Her scientific awards include:

• Meritorious Abstract Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine (2016)

Dr. Sawyer teaches Application of Statistics in Psychology at the undergraduate level and maintains her professional contact through sawyeran@vcu.edu.
