Ashish Kumar Saxena

Dr. Ashish Kumar Saxena is a former member of the Department of Structure and Nano-/ Micromechanics of Materials at the Max Planck Institute for Sustainable Materials in Düsseldorf, Germany. His research focuses on nanomechanics, micromechanics, and advanced materials engineering. He holds a BSc in Physics, Electronics, and Mathematics (2002-2005), an MSc in Physics (2005-2007), an M.Tech in Materials Science Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Trichy, India (2008-2010), and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India (2010-2015). Professional experience includes roles as a Project Research Scientist at the National Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research (IIT Bombay, 2015-2016) and a Consultant at GE Global Research Center (Bangalore, 2016-2016).

His research interests span structural materials, aerospace materials, and interdisciplinary applications of materials science. Dr. Saxena’s work contributes to foundational understanding and innovative solutions in nanomechanical systems and material behavior at micro/macro scales.
