Dr. Ashery Mbilinyi is an Assistant Professor and head of the Medical Computer Vision (MCV) lab at the University of Victoria's Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on applying AI to healthcare, particularly medical imaging and multimodal data integration to improve clinical decision-making. He holds a PhD from the University of Basel and a postdoc from UBC, with prior education at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology.
