Asher J. Mattern

Asher J. Mattern is a Lecturer in Jewish Theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology, University of Tübingen. He co-founded and directs the Jewish-Islamic Research Center (JIF), focusing on Jewish Law from Antiquity to Modernity, Rabbinic Thought and Jewish Philosophy, Legal Theory and Practice in Judaism and Islam, and Religion and Politics in Western Tradition. His teaching spans topics like Halacha and Sharia comparisons, Jewish-Islamic relations, and modern Jewish philosophy.
