Dr. Aseel Takshe serves as Acting Dean and Associate Professor at the School of Health Sciences and Psychology, Canadian University Dubai, within the Department of Public Health. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Health and M.S. in Environmental Sciences from the American University of Beirut, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics and Management from the University of York, UK. Her postdoctoral research at the University of Twente examined environmental legislation effectiveness during conflicts.
Her research focuses on conflict-induced environmental degradation in the Middle East/Gulf/North Africa and its long-term health impacts, with additional expertise in Environmental Law, Occupational Health & Safety, and QHSE program development. Specializations include environmental policy analysis, sustainability transitions, and climate-health interconnections.
Publications demonstrate interdisciplinary strength across environmental economics, climate policy, and health systems. Recent work emphasizes: 1) Environmental technologies (air quality detection, waste management innovation), 2) Pandemic responses (COVID-19 behaviors, disinfectant practices), 3) Sustainability psychology (eco-anxiety, pro-environmental behaviors), and 4) Health innovations (robotic surgery, dementia care apps). Geographic focus remains consistent on UAE/Gulf contexts with global policy implications.
