Asankha Pallegedara

Asankha Pallegedara serves as a Research Fellow at the University of Passau's School of Business, Economics and Information Systems, hosted by Professor Michael Grimm's Chair of Development Economics under the Georg Forster Research Fellowship. His two-year residency focuses on analyzing Sri Lanka's health policy frameworks and systemic challenges.

His academic foundation includes bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees earned in Japan, with a notable transition from engineering to economics enabling interdisciplinary research approaches.

Pallegedara's work centers on health policy implementation in developing economies, specifically investigating structural deficiencies in Sri Lanka's healthcare system through a development economics lens. His methodology integrates engineering-derived analytical frameworks with socioeconomic analysis of public health infrastructure.
