Artur Milian

Professor Artur Milian (born 1950) is a renowned violinist, concertmaster, and academic affiliated with the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn (UWM) and the Olsztyn College of Informatics and Management. Since 2004, he has served as a full professor at UWM's Institute of Music, and since 2006, at the Institute of Cultural Studies within Olsztyn College. He has directed the Department of Instrumental Pedagogy since 2012 and been a member of the Association of Polish Musicians since 1978.

• Education: Academy of Music in Katowice (1973), Moscow Conservatory postgraduate studies (1974-1976).

Research & Artistic Focus: Milian specializes in violon performance, chamber music, and instrumental pedagogy. His career spans hundreds of concerts across Europe and the USA, including solo and orchestral performances of composers such as Bach, Mozart, and Vivaldi. He founded the Philharmonic Olsztyn String Quartet (1987) and the UWM Fine Arts Faculty String Quartet (2009).

Labs & Teams: Milian has led the Warmia-Mazuria Philharmonic Orchestra as concertmaster since 1977 and co-founded multiple string quartets, including the Artur Milian String Quartet (1994).
