Artur Hubert Myna is a University Professor at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland, where he serves in the Department of Socio-Economic Geography within the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management, part of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Spatial Management. He has been employed at this institution since 1989, progressing from Research Assistant (1989-1997) to Assistant Professor (1998-2018) and now Associate Professor (2019-present). His academic journey includes a MA in Economics from UMCS (1986), PhD in Economics from John Paul Catholic University of Lublin (1998), and Habilitation in Economics from Wroclaw University of Economics and Business (2014).

His work examines the spatial dimensions of urban development, municipal services, and local government investment. He has made significant contributions to understanding waste management systems, water supply infrastructure, and the geographical patterns of real estate markets. His research methodology often involves spatial analysis and building database approaches to examine municipal infrastructure development across different regions of Poland.
His publication record shows a clear trajectory of research focusing on urban and regional development issues, particularly in eastern Poland. His recent work (2021-2024) has increasingly addressed sustainability topics including renewable energy from agricultural biomass and spatial policy implementation. His publications span high-impact journals in urban studies, with several appearing in Q1 journals with significant impact factors. His work demonstrates a consistent focus on the practical implications of spatial planning and municipal infrastructure development for local communities.
Professor Myna has actively participated in numerous international conferences including the International Congress on Energy Regeneration of Cities (2023), where he chaired sessions on municipal infrastructure, and multiple International Conferences on Local and Regional Economy in Theory and Practice. His international engagement reflects his standing in the field of socio-economic geography.
He has supervised 175 students throughout his career, including 1 PhD candidate, 31 Master's level students (M.Eng & M.A.), 51 Bachelor of Engineering students, and 92 other Bachelor's students. His teaching responsibilities at UMCS include courses on spatial economy theory, economic activity location theories, public real estate economy, local development planning, regional and local development strategies, and public management. He has also participated in significant research projects, including developing methodologies for obtaining data and indicators for municipal infrastructure projects funded by the Cohesion Fund.
