معرفی
Arthur W. Toga is the Provost Professor of Ophthalmology, Neurology, Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences, Radiology, Engineering, and Quantitative and Computational Biology at the University of Southern California (USC). He holds the Ghada Irani Chair in Neuroscience and directs the USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute, overseeing the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (LONI). His research focuses on neuroimaging algorithms, computational neuroanatomy, and Alzheimer's disease biomarkers. Toga's work integrates advanced imaging techniques, big data analytics, and genomics to study brain structure, function, and disease progression.
Key research areas include:
- Development of 3D neuroimaging atlases for stereotactic localization
- Machine learning for brain age prediction and disease classification
- Analysis of white matter microstructure, perivascular spaces, and blood-brain barrier dysfunction
- Leadership in large-scale initiatives like the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) and the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI)
Publications emphasize Alzheimer's biomarkers, neurovascular dysfunction, and the genetic architecture of brain aging. Toga advocates for open science and data sharing through platforms like the Global Alzheimer’s Association Interactive Network (GAAIN). His lab contributes to multimodal imaging pipelines, stroke research, and neuroinformatics infrastructure.
