Professor Arthur Mukenge serves as a faculty member in the Department of French and Francophone Studies at Rhodes University. Holding an MA from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and a PhD from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), he previously worked as a researcher at CALS (UKZN) and taught French Language at St Charles College alongside French & Francophone Literature at UKZN's Pietermaritzburg Campus.

Recent publications reveal deep engagement with Francophone African literary traditions—particularly from the Comoros archipelago and Central Africa—and innovative analyses of literary genres including autofiction and exile narratives. His work consistently bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in language education and decolonial curriculum development.
