Dr Arthur Money is a Reader in the Department of Computer Science at Brunel University London's College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences. He serves as the Computer Science Work Placements Director and Computer Science Marketing Co-ordinator. Having received his MSc in Distributed Information Systems with distinction in 2001 and PhD in Multimedia Computing in 2007 from Brunel, he previously worked for Oracle UK Ltd as an e-Business Technology Consultant before undertaking his fully funded EPSRC PhD scholarship.
His research focuses on user-centred design, development and evaluation of multimedia computing systems, with particular emphasis on applications for older adults, healthcare, education, and defense domains. His specific research areas include Multimedia Computing, Human-Computer Interaction, 3D Mobile Virtual Reality, Video Summarisation, Assistive Technologies for Health Care, Serious Games, Inclusive Access in HCI, Human Factors, User-Centred Design, Emotion and Affective Computing, and e-Government and e-Inclusion.
Dr Money's recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate a clear trend toward AI-enhanced educational technologies and advanced healthcare applications, particularly in falls risk assessment for older adults. His work bridges computer science with practical applications in healthcare settings, with several publications focusing on mobile 3D depth sensing applications for home-based assessments and emotionally intelligent AI conversational agents for educational purposes.

Dr Money has supervised over 100 undergraduate and postgraduate research projects throughout his career, with primary supervision of four PhD students (three completed, one ongoing). His research projects include Entertainment-Led Video Summarisation (2004-2007), DIADEM (EUFP6, 2008-2010), MATCH Plus Project (EPSRC, 2011-2013), and ongoing work in Collaborative video summarisation techniques and Technology Assisted Healthcare. He collaborates with researchers including Dr Harry Agius, Dr Georgia Spiliotopoulou, Dr Damon Daylamani-Zad, Prof Mark Perry, and Prof George Ghinea within the IEHS research group.
