Arthur Huiban

Arthur Huiban is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Geneva within the Faculty of Arts. He previously served as an assistant at the Institute of Reformation History from June 2016 to July 2020.

• Doctorate in literature, history (UNIGE), and philosophy (Paris 1) completed in October 2020
• Co-supervised by professors Philippe Büttgen and Maria-Cristina Pitassi

His research focuses on the history of religious and political ideas from the Reformation to the Enlightenment. He contributed to the SNSF project A Disregarded Past, analyzing understudied aspects of early modern intellectual history.

Key contributions include interdisciplinary studies of confessional spaces in 16th-17th century Europe, particularly examining scriptural clarity (claritas scripturae) in theological debates.
